I have a black velvet or velveteen belt with jeweled trim, and wondering what everyones' thoughts are regarding age?
The brass trim looks older to me (teens? 20s?) and consists of faceted plastic cabs; rose cut for the larger stones, and table cut for the smaller red ones.
The fastener sits on one side and includes snap buttons and hook and eye, with a soft leather backing sewn into place. The female portion of the snaps appear to be stamped with "RFCO".
I just googled it and registration dates from 1945, with first usage in 1912. What say you? Earlier? Later?
