Jewelry question-Is this a Watch Fob-Weird man

Hi Everyone,
I have this weird jewery item which I think might be some sort of watch fob?
It is made of brass and silver colored metal. The top part depicts a man in a suit of armour with a cross for a head and he seems to be wearing a crown. It appears this part could slide on a belt,
the bottom portion has a loop for something to hang.
The copper metal is turning green, should I clean it before I list it or leave it as is?
Anyone know what this depicts? or what it is? It is pretty interesting looking.

Thanks,
Sue

it is a sword holder from a belt, probably some masonic group, but I don't know which from that symbol

I have a belt with 3 of these in varying lengths from the Knights of the Templar

Cant offer help as to what it is though i did get e Templar/masonic feel. from the headless crown ;-)

but I can tell you DO NO CLEAN..... i collect regular antiques and cleaned items are not desirable... the condition is part of the intrigue. now the buyer may clean it but you risk destroying the vale. i saw on antiques road show a lady had a very collectible brass vase/picture and she spent all day with a toothbrush cleaning it to bring it to the show. it was valued at like 10-12 thousand USD but if she had not cleaned it any where from 60,000-80,000 dollars.... bet she was peeved lol

i just looked at mine and yours IS a Knights of the Templar sword chain. The buckle on my belt has a red cross, so that's what I remembered
