K shoes 'Especially for Mum' - correction, it's Illum!

A pair of 30's/40's white court shoes which are marked inside 'K Shoe Made in England Specially for Mum', and the sole has been stamped 'Udenlandsk', which is Danish for Foreign, yet they've clearly never left the country :S I think the latter was done after manufacture, as it crosses the size markings at 90 degrees. Any ideas for the reasoning behind either of these markings?

I never came back to correct this thread but after listing these shoes a kind lady send me a message to say they actually said Made especially for Illum which was/is the leading department store in Copenhagen, Denmark. :duh2: Makes more sense with the Danish markings now...
What intrigues me is why did they come all the way back to the UK?
