Key Pieces to wear for 2011

According to Glamour Magazine, the key wardrobe pieces to have for 2011 include:

* An oversized sweater
* A pleated skirt
* A fringed handbag
* A pair of track pants
* A piece with major volume (ie. a full skirt as an example)
* A piece that is color-blocked
* A white shirt
* Wide-leg jeans

I'm finding it wonderfully ironic that track pants and a sloppy sweater is now high fashion.

I agree Mary Jane dull is the word AND I will never understand track pants as fashion. They confounded me in the 90s...I was happy when they finally retreated back to the gym where they belong.

Ugh - track pants! Not existing in my closet! And the rest... well, no problem for the full skirt or the oversize sweater (I have a vintage 80s or 90s one, bought NOS - looks gorgeous with leggings, believe it or not ). But these are things I would wear anyway.

I recently looked through a few fashion mags that I got for free - usually I think they're too expensive for a whole load of ads, and zero intellect in whatever there is to actually read in them. What can I say? I know why I don't buy them and why I mostly don't care what's happening on fashion industry runways, or what apparently is the "must-have" of the season. I'd rather go with my own style!
