Pam and I have a sister who has been evacuated from her home in Tujunga. So far her house has been spared and she is updating us when she can.

I've got ashes all over my car and the sunsets turn a really eerie orange - but we're not close enough to be in danger from anything except extra-unhealthy air.

It's HUGE, though. over 800k acres so far & 2 firefighters have lost their lives.

It's scary and worse today. Sis said Burbank airport was closed yesterday. Not sure about today. She also said the ashes were everywhere inside and out. They are staying in their travel trailer at her DH work for now.

i feel for everyone down there, and am wishing everyone stays safe and that the fire is contained SOON.

i live near the santa barbara area. we've been hit hard with fires in the past 2 years. thankfully none of the heroic firefighters here lost their lives. my heart goes out to those two and their families.

The sky is still clear in Palm Springs. I'm sure all that smoke is unhealthy.

It's very dry here which isn't surprising at the end of summer. C

I'm in Ontario and can no longer see the mountains. It's terrible. Can't get a hold of my friend who lives in the hills of Glendale.

I have some relatives in California, and I worry every time when I hear something about the fires. So fare they've been spared, but still...
