LA Times article - vintage sales are on the rise

They seem to have moved the article - I found it here.

I must admit that my sales are doing nicely - we average between 10-45% up on the same time last year. Now, if only I could stop buying so voraciously

This article is really talking about ex-toggery stuff - one or two seasons old, not vintage. Rich women have been buying each other's used designer duds for decades!

I don't know, Jonathan- I think there's also a pretty clear "vintage in general" promotion in there.
They are specifically mentioning places like Buffalo Exchange & also mention thrift, vintage & 2nd hand shops. And the author actually mentions a 60's Courrèges by name.
I'm sure the majority of people will think of more modern designer "vintage" - but not all buyers.

And I must say that although my estate sales are NOT selling very well in the last couple months - my vintage clothing store is seeing a pretty fair business. I think that a good amount of people are open to considering REAL vintage - or are less concerned with labels than they are with finding unique pieces that suit them, no matter the decade.
