Hi, all!

I am sure that I have seen someone else ask about this label, somewhere here, but I'm unsure who or where and I'm not succeeding in searching. It's on a late-50s/60s, shelf-bust, eyelet, organza dress (with an AFL-CIO, ILGWU tag)...

Was it one of Marie's dresses? Does anyone remember the tag?

Thanks!

Yes, it is. Tee hee! ...and Pale and Vab and Valo and Vale...

At first glance, it looks like PAB, but then one starts reading all kinds of things into it. Sorry, but I'm of NO help here.

GREAT dress, though!

Lizzie

Thank you! I was, of course, hoping it would be one of those fantastic, famously-almost-illegible, "Adrian"-type labels. :duh: If neither of you has seen it in handling the labels, though... *sigh*

Why...if a designer wanted people to buy more of their clothes...why would they at least not make it legible? If the clothing was a perfect fit and i wanted to buy more and more, how would i ask for it? beats me!

I bet now i will all the sudden see this label again and again

Good point, Chris - the one that always puzzles me is the label that has a large modern stylised Japanese character and nothing else! I've seen it a few times, mostly from folk wanting (trying) to find out just who the heck it is!!!

Maybe Margaret, it was made for the japanese market with no intention of ever getting loose. it probably just says "dress" but we don't know it.
