Hello VFG Forum! I'm stumped and I need your help. I found this wonderful dress by Lala's of California, but I can't seem to find any information on the history of this company. Anyone know of them? Thanks!
What a nifty, pretty gown! I had a Lala's item awhile back, which I felt was 70's, though like you, I couldn't seem to find anything about the label, as I recall.
It was this one; wish my label shot had been better: http://www.etsy.com/view_transaction.php?transaction_id=18536480
Wow, what an awesome dress you had! I found 2 LaLa's listings, one being the peignoir set, but that's all I found. I'd like to know more about the company before I sell the dress. Do you mind me asking how much you sold yours for?
Thank you very much. I'm happy that it went to a good home, though I'd prefer not to say, regarding the price. I surely agree, that it would be good to know at least something, about the company.
They modeled it completely different than I did, so it looks like a different dress. I'm going to research the newspaper archives and see if I can find out anything more about LaLa's. If I do, I'll send it to you!
I found a few ads for LaLa's Originals in the LA Times archives. Looks like her lingerie line was popular with very wealthy house wives. Couldn't find much more on her company's history, but the old ads are fun to look at!
"Ruffled jabot cascades in all polyester"... You have got to love that. There's the shortie version of my gown! Do you happen to know the date of that center ad? I see '67 and '65 on the others.
It's such fun to see these ads. Thank you for pulling them up and posting; now we know more about Lala's.
