I just got two pairs of NOS Gloria Vanderbilt suede pumps. I know she came back a few years ago, but these are definitely '80s right? One of my friends said he isn't so sure they aren't recent. I say '80s...

The small shaped heel is typical of the very very late 80s - early 90s. It was renamed a kitten heel in the early 90s, but its really a louis or french heel in older shoe terminology. ALso suede was hugely popular in the early 90s, and the burnt orange colour was a popular early 90s colour as well. I would say c. 1990 - 1993ish on them.

Now I remember I had a Burnt Orange Giorgio Armani coat my mother bought me in 1988... Those Autumn colors were big around the turn of the decade... wish I still had the coat!

danke!

I think of them as Southwest colours, dark green, burnt orange, deep blue... Although these shoes aren't Southwestern in style, the colours still crossed the board into fashion.

Oh, those are yummy shoes!!!! I still love those southwestern colors...burnt orange and all. And, kitten heels, in there early 60's incarnation were my introduction to "walking in high heels". Great shoes!
