I've never seen a wrap LA. It looks like 90's or later to me. To help pin point a date, can you tell me the length from shoulder to hem and if it has been shortened at all?
Can you also show the care label please?

You're right Melanie: it's an unusual styles for LA. The armscyes are very big too so I wonder if it's not so much a dress as a pinafore apron? Not that I've seen one of those either.

Just went looking and found a couple of LA '90s wrap dresses on etsy.

Hi Melanie,
Thanks very much for your reply. The length is approx 3ft (36inches)90cm from shoulder to hem and has NOT been shortened. I can't find a care label on it. I actually bought it from a charity shop so am wondering now if it is genuine. It doesn't look like there are any alterations to it at all.It is a size UK 16. EUR 42 or USA 12.
Do you think it is a fake? Thanks for your help. I live in Wales U.K.

I can't see anyone faking Laura Ashleys, especially more modern ones. The length suggests it's more modern too, as does the label. I'm inclined to a '90s date. Odd that it doesn't have any other labels: were they cut out perhaps? Can you see any remnants down a side seam?

If you provide measurements (bust-waist-hip) it will reveal whether the age of the size.

I think I can see an underskirt - the care label may be between the two layers.
Although I have an 80's wrap dress of similar style it is much longer and LA has always tended to the old fashioned (as she herself said!). The length suggests more modern, though it does not have the most recent label styles.
You can still find LA adverts from this time, so you may be able to date it by finding one.

Hi again. I have found the label - there is so much material I somehow missed it - no it doesn't have an underskirt.
