hi......

just being nosey here...... but how do you remember.... designers..... names.. when you are out and about on your travels ?

i know over time you learn and remember etc....

but did you have any quirky ways of remembering ?

i have bought an address book......

which i will write down the designers in alphabetical order..... and with any notes on what to look out for... like ageing the item regarding labels etc.....

is it only me..... but have you ever been in a charity/thrift shop and you seen a garment... and the label looks so posh that you think it must be a designer garment....

and then you can not find anything out about them...?

Sometimes ignore the label. Is the quality of construction there? Is it a desirable style/size and color. Sometimes desirable designers make duds. Your gut more than names will serve you well because most of the designer names to know - i often find i pick something out anyways and learning they are desirable is just icing on the cake.

thanks patentleathershoes.....

i do totally agree with you... ...

but have you ever sold something... and its gone for a premium price becuase of the certain desinger label.....?

i must admit i have had some lovely quality garments... which have no label.. except the size.......and have only sold for a few pounds....... and then i have had designer labelled items... which.. imo... have been infereior quality compared to the unlabelled one..... as its sell for silly money .....

its like my niece..... she will only wear a certain brand of clothes....and to be honest.... they dont look any diff from the supermarket's clothes ... but she pays silly money for them ......lol....

I try to shove them all into my wee brain just as label images and letter styles (who can even read and Adrian label?). It's much like the old days of college Art History classes for me....shove the style, design, and hopefully the name of the creator into my back brain area. I rarely find designer stuff, though, so I try more to remember styles, looks, items that sell.
