Leather Help On Vanity Travel Kit

I've been looking at leather resources online and can't find this type of leather anywhere. Anybody know what it is? And also isn't this thing great! It came with a lot of purses at an auction!

It's a bit hard to tell from your pic, but it looks like ostrich or faux ostrich to me. Is it definitely real leather/hide? It's reading as faux/vinyl to me, especially the edging, but that could just be the pictures. If it is real it could be embossed leather rather than actual ostrich hide.

Does it have a smell? It looks like it's lined in vinyl or if that's the real back then it is vinyl. I was also thinking peccary, if it's real.
