Hi all! What a fantastic resource to find, I hope you can help. I have a very worn vintage black leather motorcycle jacket that I'd like to sell. It has the remains of a label but it's unreadable. The design around the edge, however, is distinctive, so I'm hoping someone here will be familiar with it. Any help would be most appreciated!!

Here's the jacket:

And here's the label:

Thanks in advance!!

Isn't that the border that usually surrounds the words "genuine leather?" I have a couple of pieces with no brand/designer but they do have that same border with just "genuine leather."

Just a thought...it is distinctive and I have def. seen.

I agree with msgrossmyer - the outline indicates that it was real leather.

These were mass produced in the '80s by a large number of manufacturers. The fact that your label is printed suggests that it's not an expensive one. Perhaps if you search for '80s leather jackets online and see if you can find one with a similar label?

Are there any other labels, eg in the lining, in the inside pocket? All my male friends had one of these in the '80s and wore it with skinny jeans, studded belt and band t-shirt.

There is a frayed care label on the inside left seam, but any text is long gone, and it's tiny to boot. I had one of those 80s leather jackets too and this feels a lot heavier, tougher and older than that. Thanks everyone for your input! (I tried playing with it in Photoshop too but couldn't get anything that looked like a sure thing. Nice work!

I'll keep researching and in the meantime if anyone has any more ideas I'd love to hear 'em!

Was just going to second Miss Martys...probably a "real" motorcycle jacket if thicker...as opposed to one made for the fashion look. That is a good thing of course.
