Lee Jordan gown - help with date

Hello there! I'm trying to find out some info about this gown.

Label is "Lee Jordan New York".
Label directly underneath says "Luxurious Fabric Professional Dry Clean Only".
ILGWU label is faint, and I can't read the codes or anything.

Dress is (I believe) Venetian lace layered all the way down in a straight skirt. Lycra-type lining from the bodice all the way down and lace is sewn to lining. Sleeves are just lace with small straps underneath. Zipper up the back (non metal teeth, metal pull) and hook/eye closures for top layer of lace.

Was purchased at a consignment shop sometime prior to 1994, but shop owner moved away. I'm hoping the pics that I've given are adequate for help, (that is, if they appear in my posting - I'm a rookie at this!). I would love to know more about this dress, as it was my wedding dress, given to me by a dear relative who purchased at the consignment.

Love this site! Many thanks for any insights! - Kel

Thank you!

Does anyone know anything about the designer? I've been all over the nets and can't really find out much. This is more for curiosity than anything - once I fulfill my dream of a brick-and-mortar vintage shop, I envision it being displayed in the window (but not for sale, lol)!

Am really looking to discern when it was made and what the retail cost was at the time.

I so appreciate any help and thanks again for the scoop on the union label!

PS - Congrats, denisebrain on the Lulu listing!

I agree with Maggie on an '80s date - and although I can't help with any info on the designer, I can say that clothes in the '80s were more expensive than they are today and your dress looks to be good quality so it would not have been cheap.

Sorry, I can't find anything about Lee Jordan. I recall seeing the label in department stores, but I wasn't able to find info online. I see people are selling clothes by that label listing it back to the 60s.

Lee Jordan could be a person/designer, or a label name, if that helps with research.

Not a whole lot to add, aside from that I just this week, donated a Lee Jordan NY, sparkly 70s disco dress, as it was badly faded in back, and the elastic was shot. I was really impressed with the quality of the garment, and now feel a bit guilty about letting it go, but I just didn't feel up to a project, and nothing could have been done about that fade. It was a pretty dress.
I'd never had anything else from that label.
Your dress shows that nice quality.

I see tons of Lee Jordan here in Ohio - mostly prom type dresses it seems. I too couldn't find much on the label but I do see it on nearly every trip to the thrift store. Lots and lots of 80s dresses.
