Let\'s Play...Guess the Year :)

Alright, get your thinking caps on. :)

What year do you think it is in the following.... (i know, and won't tell until later). I might consider posting another picture if anyone gets stumped and needs another more obvious clue.

I didn't cut the ladies heads off, it was the way they were on the page.

:yay:

Give a round of applause to the squirrel lady :)

These are both from the 1972 Simplicity Sewing Book.

the second dress later reincarnated in the 90s in black sans bow and flower, but perhaps slight v to the neck or 1/4 zipper in the front. (for later reference for us to talk about in 10-15 years when the 90s makes its retro comeback).

I was thinking that folks would think the yellow dress was much later and the second dress was slightly earlier if it weren't for the hairstyle of the gal in the red dress.

:USING:
The first dress does look later. The second, with the cuffs, really screams 70's to me. The model also said early seventies to me. I was a teeny bopper at this time and I remember this style. I think between the ages of 10 and 13 I was most into fashion mags like Seventeen. After that I gave up trying to look like any of the models and took on my own style:rolleyes:

(what did I win?) lol

I wasn't sure on the yellow first one - it looks later than early 70s to me too.

The red one, I would've said 73 (so off by a year).

I think what threw me off for the first one is that at first glance I too thought it was later. The earrings, although large scale for some years, are a very classic style. I could see where folks would think it was chunky 80s earrings. The other confusing thing is her hairstyle can be seen on any ballerina in most eras.
