Life around Spitalfields

I lived in London for two years and loved to go to the various markets early in the morning. I found this CHARMING BLOG about Spitalfields, although the most recent entry about a fire destroying the area's last cloth warehouse is sad.

I love Spitalfields, I'm often in that area.

There's now regular vintage clothing markets at Old Spitalfields Market, though I'm yet to take a stall.

Great blog! Not having been to London for some years, the last time I went there on a private trip a few years ago, I stumbled into Spitalfields almost by accident - and loved it. Spent quite a bit of time there in the end. I loved Old Spitalfields Market - beautiful. And I think on Saturday Sunday morning I walked into some vintage market somewhere around Brick Lane, where I dug a fabulous Richard Allan silk scarf out of a bin for £10. Happy times!

I do miss London - and especially Spitafields and Camden - which are number one targets on my every visit.

Camden ain't what it was. Still a good atmosphere though. I know they are trying to get more unique traders there, including vintage, rather than the usual imported stuff you see everywhere. I'm thinking of taking a stall at some point.

Yes around Brick Lane is one of the go to places for vintage, both shops and pop-up markets.
