Like Shearling Coats?

I picked up a really nice shearling man’s coat at a rummage sale. The quality of the belts, tailoring and buttons were obvious. The label is Sawyer of Napa and if anyone is looking for a shearling coat, these are still good buys on eBay.

This northern California company was in business from the late 1800’s until the early 1990’s when they went under. EPA (nasty leather tanning process) and then sourcing the hides off-shore and having them assembled in Korea being part of the reasons for their demise.

Anyway, if you happen to find a vintage Sawyer of Napa shearling coat made in California - it’s a quality garment, much nicer than more recently produced coats. (Of course.. it's vintage!)
