Lilli Diamond Dress late 50s?

Hello did some research on LD dresses I have this really beautiful and well made dress that has a metal back zipper. But it has the tag from the 60s ...according to the info here and other places. I thought it was a 50s dress.

So I was wondering if anyone can help me to pinpoint if this dress is actually 60s or late 50s perhaps. I was just under the impression that metal zippers were not often used in the 60s.

I was a young child in the 1960s and metal zippers were the norm. I hated them, so scratchy on young backs! I have a strong memory of feelings of relief whenever I happened to receive a garment with the newer nylon zip.

In a quick newspapers.com search, I saw this ad that speaks of the newest trumpet silhouette in a shimmering Lurex lame in silver or lilac. It isn't your dress, but it has the same flavor.

Lol.oh no what horrible metal zipper associations , but yes that makes sense it would take time to transition from metal to nylon

Oh, I forgot to say that this ad was from 1960.

In my experience, metal zippers were still used a great deal in the 1960's.
