Lily Dache hat: early label with red velvet heart

Hello,
I have an early Lily Dache hat with a red velvet heart stitched inside the band, along with the labels.
Can anyone help me with the significance of the heart? Does it indicate positioning on the head, or was it simply an inclusion she used for a specific period of time?
Many thanks,
Julia

Julia,

I am so curious about your little red heart. Could you show us a photo, please?
Hello,
Thanks for your help; I recall reading a reference to this heart in one of my books but can't find it again.
Here are the pictures.
Julia

Thanks for the photos. The most accepted idea among Dache' historians about the red heart is it was a sachet. A short lived gimmick, if you will, to sell Dache' perfumes along with the hat. Put a drop of perfume on the heart sachet and leave a trail of scent wherever you go. I believe this was done around 1940.

A very interesting idea and a great question.
Thanks! She was a great marketer....
