LIZ Taylor Auctions?

I read an article in my newspaper today about the auctions... what I had not realised was the story of the huge pearl called "La Peregrina", which Taylor had set in a magnificent necklace, which will be in today's auction: http://www.christies.com/about/press-center/releases/pressrelease.aspx?pressreleaseid=4977

Wikipedia has the history of it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_Peregrina
The portrait of Mary I. wearing a necklace with the pearl is well-known: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Mary_I_of_England.jpg

Being the art and history nerd I am, and having been lapping up the history of the Habsburgs since my first visit to Vienna when I was about 10, I've probably looked at pictures showing it more often than I can think of... but of course none of them ever made any reference to the pearl. Who would have guessed! :)
