I got this from an estate sale and it is a substantial weight of thick silk satin with embroidery in an Asian motif.
Floor length with silk lavender lining. I couldn't find the label but then I saw this handwritten tag "VALENTINE" inside the lining. Does anyone have an idea of the age & make of this skirt?
Thanks,
Shereen

Thank you for the info....Is it typical to sew a label in the lining for dry cleaning? Also, the skirt has two pockets...details I love!
Any idea about the age? I've seen some similar( but not as detailed) pieces on etsy or eBay from the 50's & 60's.

Could you give us a bit more detail?

How are the seams finished? How does it close up. If zipper, is it metal or nylon?
I could see 60s on this. Very nice!

It has a side zipper that is nylon....the hem of the skirt as well as the lining seem to be hand stitched, as well as the area between the waistband and lining. I've included some more pics. I hope this helps....thanks!

Correction... it looks like it was probably altered by hand but most of the stitching looks to be done by machine
