Over the weekend, my aunt and her friend came down and they wanted to go to a yarn store. There was a cute little sweater on the table and it was perfect for the friend's granddaughter, so we asked the lady if the pattern was available. She got very defensive and said that the pattern was "100 years old", and if they lived in town she would teach them the pattern, but since they didn't it was illegal for her to copy or write down. All she could have said was "i don't have it available."
I guess she took orders to make it so wanted to sell made items instead of patterns.
Anyway, i am guessing it wasn't 100 years old, maybe slightly newer than that and it was a very simple sweater pullover - no hoods, no rolled collar, just a basic round neck sweater and it would be a small pattern for pattern for a little kid. I forget how old but maybe an 24 months or up to a 2T or so. I am not savvy on kids sizing.
Anyhow, the pattern I forget if it was knitting or crochet. And the lady said it was a pattern that started from the neck down. But by the time i find it, the kid will probably be bigger who knows.
If anyone comes across any older kids patterns like that, LMK. I can't guarantee it will look like the pattern but i will have a look.
