Hi All,

I just picked these earrings up at an estate sale today (see attachment) and can't find anything on them on the Internet. Any information/advice would be much, much appreciated!

Your earrings are C. late 1950's - early 1960's. I see you have them labeled "blue" but they look black on my monitor. The stones are "prong - set" rhinestones set in a gold- tone setting. The stones that appear multi-colored as they reflect the light are called aurora borealis which is a vacuum coating finish perfected in the early 1950's and was very popular in 1950's and early 1960's jewelry. The earrings might have had a matching brooch, necklace or other pieces. Sometimes sets of jewelry called parures were not marked on each piece. The clip design on the back of the earring is distinctive (you have shown it upside down). I have seen it before but I cannot recall who the maker might be.

Nice find!

I think the "when" part is late 1950's - early 1960's but who is the question.

I have not seen that earring back used by D&E aka Juliana. I haven't looked at everything in my collection but so far I don't think I have an example of this back. It is similar to the one used by Schreiner and other makers but the keyhole is different.

Do you live in the US, tiltosquirrel?
