It's not the VFG's policy to authenticate or evaluate garments. However, there are some tell tale signs you can look at to help you decide if this scarf is worthy of pursuing a professional opinion as to whether it is an authentic Chanel scarf. Is it silk?, Then look at the placement of the design on the material - are all the borders of equal size? And finally, look at the edge to see if it is a hand finished rolled edge - not machine sewn. If it passes all three of those tests then you could look to finding someone near you who can see the scarf in person to determine if it is real. Try a vintage clothing store that handles used Chanel goods and see if they know of anyone who might be able to identify it for you, if they can't. Chanel stores won't do it without a bill of sale.
