Looking for info on this label

Hi - I'm wondering if any of you can help me date a jacket I have. I found it in my late brother's belongings. It appears to be from a gun club in So. Cal. but I haven't had any luck with contacting them. The label says "Pla-Jac by Dunbrooke 40 M 42 (which I assume is the size) and Made in USA". There is a care tag underneath that reads "Machine wash medium Tumble dry low setting Do not wring, squeeze or spin dry Do not use bleach". The care tag doesn't have any of the current types of symbols nor is the type of fabric listed.

I'd appreciate any help you can give.

Thank you,

Kate

Can you show photos of the whole jacket please? That will help to date it better. Dunbrooke was founded in 1939 and that they are still in business today. The company began it's long association with jackets by making nylon jackets under a government contract during the Korean War in the 50s. For over 30 years the jacket line flourished under the brand name Pla-Jac. I found this information in an online article on a site called wearablesmag. There is also a Dunbrooke site online as well.

I guess I didn't use the correct search terms because I didn't come up with the info you did - thanks for doing that. Here are a few more pictures. The fabric feels like a cotton/poly blend but if the jacket is older than I think, maybe it's permanent press?

I went to the Dunbrooke site and now I'm thinking that perhaps the jacket is poplin.

Thank you for posting the additional photos. I am not able to determine the age of this jacket with certainty. Part of me wants to say this is somewhere between the late 7os to early 80s but I am not positive. Being the company is still in existence you might have luck if you google their site Dunbrooke, show them your photos, and ask them if they can help you determine the age.
