Hi, I’ve picked up this Sergio Tacchini hooded jacket from a charity shop but can’t seem to find any information about it online. I’ve tried image searches and detailed descriptions and even ChatGPT, but I’m still none the wiser. Does anyone have any info on it please?

Hi, I found this info. Hope it helps.
The history of Sergio Tacchini is tied to the life of the Italian tennis player and fashion designer who founded the brand in 1966:

  • Tennis career
Born in 1938, Sergio Tacchini became a professional tennis player at age 17 and won the Italian Championship in 1960. He also competed in the Davis Cup and Wimbledon, winning five singles and one doubles match. Tacchini retired from tennis in 1968.

  • Founding the brand
Tacchini founded his sportswear brand to experiment with color and fabrics, creating bold and bright tennis wear that contrasted with the traditional all-white tennis attire.

    • Partnerships with top tennis players
The brand gained worldwide recognition through partnerships with top tennis players, including John McEnroe, Pete Sampras, Martina Navratilova, Jimmy Connors, Mats Wilander, and Pat Cash.
    • Influence on tennis culture
Tacchini's brand helped pave the way for other tennis venues to loosen their dress codes, allowing players to express themselves more freely.
    • Cultural impact
The brand became a staple in the UK's casual culture and American street subcultures. It was also worn by football hooligans in England in the 1980s.
    • Appearances in movies and music videos
The brand was featured in the 2005 British movie The Business and the 2011 action thriller Hanna.
