Hello everyone,
Looking to replace this lovely vintage Pierre Cardin 3/4 pant cuffed suit with banded jacket. Damaged during a heavy rain flood.
The cut, fabric and hand is just beautiful - was gearing up to wear it soon.
Any help is appreciated. Will take more pictures before it ends up in the heap.
Thank you,
Mell

What damage was done to it? Is it possible it could be cleaned or repaired?
It was in an off season storage container - sewer backup due to heavy rain flooding. So, I don't know if there's a way to clean it. My other fine fabric suits were ruined - mold has started to grow on lightweight wool and viscose suit. ugh

I feel your pain. I lost some of my favorite things last year when an ice storm damaged the roof of the climate controlled storage facility where I was paying monthly rent to keep precious things safe. I shed tears.
It’s hard to see the lines of the suit. Can you take more photos, including closeup of labels?

What kind of fabric is it? If it's washable I'd personally try soaking it. I mean if you're thinking of throwing it out you can't lose anything.

Hi Maggie,
That's terrible! Worst part is their insurance does not fully cover these damages. Many of our vintage pieces cannot be replaced.
The Linen and viscose is quite waterlogged. I've attached some additional pictures below.

Yes vinegar would be a good try.
Thanks again for the great suggestions. As it turns out the fabric has been soaked in sewer water(clear), since first week in April - smells too terrible to even handle so I will have to cut my losses and hopefully find something remotely similar. Surely not at the same spend based on the research over the last few days. I resigned myself to the damaged vintage Gucci bucket bag lost in the same basement flood.
Such a great forum here! I will stick around to help and chime in where I can.
