I recently inherited a fur from my grandmother in-law and I am so curious about it. I have contacted the place it was purchased because it is still in business! They are getting back to me with any information that they have but I just can't wait to find out about it. I don't even know what kind of fur it is. So if someone could help me identify what kind it is and about when it is from that would be amazing. Thank you.

It looks like it is from the 40s to me.
Do you know what those tie things are for that are in the first photo. they are on the inside right under the arm hole

Is there a loop on the edge of the left front that they would have tied to under the right front when buttoned?

Usually these were to tie around the waist to keep the coat more secured to the body.
interesting, I didnt find a look but there are 2 ties so maybe you would just tie them around the waist, no loop needed. Does this little part give any more indication to the time period?
