Lot Size label dates

Could you please clarify what dates the labels that say LOT SIZE are from as I am getting conflicting information on other boards. I thought the latest was 1979 and your answers will truly help me with dating and you are the experts. Thanks

I am not sure, and can't wait for others to weight in but from my experience they have been mostly 60s pieces... I think i may have had 1 or 2 70s pieces... but 60s comes to mind and early 70s.... but I suppose I just have never noticed,,, and the ones from the 60s feel more like cardboard/stiff canvas and this one looks more pliable so if you are using for dating you need to look at other labels and this one looks later/newer than than the 60s

here are some labels... the top is mid 60s.... the middle is a 50s/60s cusper and the bottom is a 60s/70s cusper

hope that helps

The one I posted a photo of is from a after 1974 Toni Todd dress ( it has the Red and Blue union label) I am interested in the dates the Lot Labels started and ended, yes some are of older lighter weight fabric and I have quite a few of those and I agree most are 60's. I just get confused when I see other vendors date lot size labels as 80's because I don't think they were on 80's clothing. Thanks

a borderline on date like 1969-1970 garment... i guess feasibly a 1968-1971 because its hard to narrow it down exactly unless you have an advertisement with the garment or a date :-)

I have had a bazillion lot size tags from the 50s.

I always thought the "lot" referred to the group, in which it was manufactured. Like size and fabric allotment, to tie it back to the manufacturing side.

Just a thunk!
