Lots on Ebay

As you know that everything I have is from my grandmother's house. Things have really changed in the last month and I am going to need to start rethinking on selling my items faster.

I was wondering how well you guys sell your ebay lots when you do them? How many do I put in a lot? 10? 15? or just my preference?

I have seen you guys put them in lots when you post them on here, but I have never really seen the end result of the sell and the total you get for them. I really haven't sold enough on ebay to place a reserve yet. Do you guys place reserves on your lots?

I have more questions, but at the moment, I am really tired and the brain is shutting down for the night.

Thanks so much for your help guys. :puzzled:

I think it depends on your aim and what you have.
If you give an example of some things you are thinking about "lotting" we can think aloud with you.

I find one of two approaches work
- a lot of things that are the same size aimed at the wearer (though dealers could bid too
- a "dealer lot" w/ a good mix of sizes.

If you do the lot solely aimed at the dealer, you have to pick something that would be attractive for resale value. It can't be things you are just passing on because you don't think it will sell either.

I have seen people do giant lots and small lots...it really just dependsl.

It is easier to list cateogrywise a lot that is all one or two types of things versus a lot with everything from shoes to dresses to lingerie,. but thats just me.

For accessories, unless you are doing a lot of 100 purses, i would do them in smaller lots of 5-12 to cut down on shipping.

I am not really wanting to sell things in a lot, but my grandmother's health is going faster then expected. I have been able to keep up her care with the sell of the things I have now, but the docs say she is going to need constant care in the next 3 to 6 months. Which means moving her to a retirement center if we (me and mom) can get her too.

I have many beautiful long dresses from the 40's, 50's and 60's that are just fab, but I really want them with a reserve. I also have alot of vintage 2 piece pantsuits and alot of blouses. I can say there are a few dresses, blouses and pantsuits that are okay in style, but not high on the resale chain.

I mostly really wanted to brain storm with you guys on getting things moving a little faster on some things. Like doing the lots and keeping a few things for the website that would be more manageable for me. If I can clear a good portion of the clothes, then that will leave mom and I more space to really start sorting through everything else like the glassware and furniture she has buried under all the clothes and glassware.

At the moment I am feeling a little overwhemled with all the clothes and they seem to multiple with every trip I make.....:hysterical:
