I have a black velvet opera coat
with the label 'Lou Richie of Montreal'.

Has anyone heard of that label?

I have had a number of his coats and capes. This was a popular manufacturing firm based in Montreal in the 1960s and 70s. I don't know if the company goes further back than the 60s. I have had many coats with this label.

Wish I could be of more help but that's all I know.
