Louis Feraud Paris

When I was in Paris last week, I bought a pretty little dress (60s) with couture construction and a Louis Feraud label--Paris was on the second line.

The dealer said the addition of "Paris" indicated that it was made for the Boutique. Boutique garments (to be sold in Paris) were often made in the couture workrooms. There was no French pret a porter until the seventies so this makes sense.

Anyone have any thoughts about it. We don't have this label at VFG. I'll send a label another day.

The trip was truly wonderful. I spent 1 1/2 days at YSL Foundation and 1 1/2 days at Dior Archives, saw the exhibition at the Galleria mid-century (19th) gowns, etc. and shopped for vintage. Didn't buy much --it was very expensive.

I looked at the VFG labels again. The early labels do not have an accent on the "e" and the letters have no slant. My label is in this group.

Suzanne, please add your web address and I'll come to visit. C

I have a 60's Louis Feraud Suit Bought it from original owner who bought it in NYC. It is dfferent then 70's garments which I have seen from that label. I think the addition of Paris is that it was sold outside France

I doesn't appear to have worked?

I have an 80's multicolor jacket from Louis Feraud SET. Louis Feraud Paris is indeed the couture line, Louis Feraud SET is a diffusion line. I will post pictures in the label thread once I get the jacket from the cleaners.
