Lovely Beaded Trim

Here is some lovely beaded trim that is yet another find from the estate I will auction off for the Humane Society

The top one is by far the longest and has that "oil slick" appearance but don't know if it is "real" jet. The second is navy red and black beads on black mesh.
The bottom two are sequins and beads.

Does anyone have a guess as to how to determine date for these.

Also...would these go into the craft or collectibles>textiles category?

The second one isn't damaged...i just didn't lay it flat.

They were all tucked away in a Fields box, but as we know just because its in a box, doesn't mean it came that way!

Chris, I think with the dating of the other stuff from that estate, it would be safe to date this 50's-60s.

Actually, the oldest items from the estate date to WWI. I have some WWI medals and such. I just haven't begun to think about the older stuff yet. Most of the actual dresses are 50s, some 40s, some 60s, some 70s. I think the dresses would have been from the daughter (who died in her 70s two years ago) and the older stuff was from mom and dad. Mom died a few years back.

perhaps some of the black ones may be edwardian

I was wondering about the bottom two black ones. While the one that has that slight oil slick look I thought was older, the other two have sequins and for some reason it didn't strike me as both being the same intricacy/quality as the others.

I can't speak to the black ones, but I have certainly seen very similar trims to the two colored ones on Teens and 20s dresses , if that's any help.

Edwardian Chris on the black and the beaded coloured I place in the
20s.

Love that second one!
