Machine made embroidery?

I found this off white dress with no tag. The embroidery seems to be done by machine. There is no guide on dating vintage machine-made embroidery.

There's no guide on dating vintage by machine made embroidery because it doesn't vary greatly from era to era. What does vary is everything else about your "dress" - the style, fabric and construction.

Any openings or pops straight over your head?

Looks like a nylon tricot (jersey) petticoat and I vote early '50s. If it has a side opening (zipper) it could be late '40s.

There is no opening at all. Just pops straight over your head.

Me too! Vintage petticoats are often too pretty to hide. I've worn many as summer dresses, although these days I tend to wear them under something else.
