Just recently bought a 'make mine a mckettrick' 1940s dress and I would love to know more about the brand. I have found some adverts from 1949 on google that say its a ballet master dress... something about how its a dress modelled after a ballet masters shirt? Anyway, any and all information would be appreciated!!
Thanks,
Hannah

Without photos of your dress and label, it is not possible to offer any observations on the date or style. I did, however, find a little information about the company that made McKettrick dresses.

-- THIS trademark information says the Make Mine McKettrick logo was first used commercially in 1938.

-- This 1953 ad indicates that Make Mine a McKettrick dresses were products of McKettrick-Williams, Inc. of NY. If you Google "McKettrick-Williams" you should find information that describes their dresses as "popularly priced" and "casual and maternity" dresses.

I found a beautiful black McKettrick little black dress with the original belt in excellent condition but cannot figure out the year by the label. I have searched high and low to no avail, :/
all the other labels have more writing on them.
Thank you for any help.
