Hi, I have a Navy Blue Coat with a taffeta Rust Lining made by Marty Gutmacher. I believe its from the 40's and appears to be a swing style 40" long and the hem measure 59.5" I believe the fabric is a type of rayon and I have shown the back of the fabric which also has the Rust color in it. The tag has a RN #30198 and another White with Blue Union Tag ILWU AFL-CIO the number on that is 941746. Any help of the description would be helpful and the type of fabric this coat is. You can click on the photos to make them larger. Thanks so much Hope

Hi,
Hope you don't mind some unasked-for advice, but those are some very big photos!
I have a wide screen monitor, and I still had to scroll across to see more than 2/3 of them. You may want to crop these and optimize them, and then re-load to youronline storage using the same file name so these are replaced with pics about 450 to 500 wide, and no more than 50-55kb. When you list your coat, the smaller pics will be crucial for buyers - lots are still on dial-up, and won't wait around for large and dense photos to load.

Re: the coat, very cute. I agree with Brenda that it looks 60s, with the narrow upper body and smallish collar. Fabric looks like a gabardine weave, I think? Subtle diagonal ribbing? You'll still need to do a fiber burn test if you can find an inner seam to snip off a small scrap - that should help you figure out rayon vs silk vs synthetic.

Thanks for the advice Maggie, is there any way I can delete these photos and put up smaller ones? I did the burn test and it burns like it is a rayon silk blend according to a site that explains this type of testing, Thanks for the advice you've been very helpful. Hope
