I posted this in the new visitor center an now realize that I posted in the wrong area. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have an alfred Werber Dress that is new with Tags New Old Stock

I have tried to find information about the designer through google, but with no luck. I have found plenty of his dresses, but no information about him.

It is a 70's maxi halter dress in a 10 and it is made of Trevira Era Polyester/Nylon Blend. I would like to know if this type of dress is sought after at all. I have not been able to find any with the tags still attached and was trying to do some research as to pricing.

Any information would be wonderful. The great sellers on the Vintage board on eBay helped me date it, but I am now intrigued about the designer. I know he had a store in St. Louis and this is where I am from.
TIA

I've just sold an 80's Alfred Werber dress for £65 (GBP) from my website. It's a completely different era and design to yours but I'm sure the quality is just the same. I love this label!

Yours is most definitely 70's and I'd say it's a very desirable style. Perfect for spring/summer and the colours are pretty. I've no idea what you should sell at though. Hopefully someone else can advise you on this. Good luck with it. :)

I love Alfred Werber and feel the work is often undervalued. I've had a few dresses and at one time was able to find quite a bit of info on him. I "think" I recall that he was based in Chicago? And he was very active in the 60s and designed for a lot of big-name women (possibly including Jackie Kennedy--but it was so long ago that I looked him up I can't be sure on that). I'm surprised you can't find more. I didn't save the research, but it wasn't too hard to come up with at the time.
