Hi, there is some info in the label resource on McGregor, which is an American brand... can't see a label which says "top of the sixes", but the general fonts look a lot like your label and some have the same sort of red pattern edging. Could you please provide photo of the actual item? It would help to see the style of the jumper/cardigan...

That's quite a classic style, bit hard to date... are there any care/composition labels at all? They might help...

I'm wondering, from looking at the labels in the label resource if it might be 1960s? It seems Top of the Sixes was an iconic New York restaurant... there was a scene in Wolf of Wall Street set there - it was located in the penthouse of a midtown Fifth Avenue Manhattan skyscraper – number 666. Apparently it opened in 1958 so, if McGregors decided to name a line of clothing after it, that would probably sit quite well with the 60s.

It's not a brand I'm familiar, hopefully some of the US members may be more knowledgeable on it...

There are no care labels no, but thank you! You’ve been very helpful.
You're welcome :) From my very basic understanding of US clothing labels... the U.S. Care Labelling Rule came into effect in 1971 (I think it became mandatory in 72), it required manufacturers and importers to attach labels to garments. So the fact there isn't a care label, together with the label logo design and restaurant name etc, all tie in well with this being circa 1960s.
