Melbourne\'s Costume Institute
Hi all,
Here in Melbourne, Australia, we're lucky to have a very passionate collector of fashion who has set up a private museum of costume.
Loel Thomson has dedicated over twenty years to her hobby, and has over 3,000 pieces covering the last two hundred years of Australian fashion. Although her museum isn't generally open to the public, she does conduct talks and tours. On Monday, I organised a group through my shop, to visit her Costume Institute.
Loel kindly allows photos to be taken. Gradually, I'm posting pics of her current displays, divided into eras. Already posted are early 19th century, Victorian, Edwardian and 1920s. Soon I'll post '30s to the '70s.
