Men in Brown???

Just wondering if Brown is the new black for men... or if i'm missing something in mens clothing.

I have a secret passion for mens suits and always pay attention... lately it seems all the news men are wearing brown.
Lester holt, Lauer, even Charlie Gibson sported brown suits last week.. not a favorite color of mine, nor was i impressed.

but last night Letterman had on a brown suit and it was FABULOUS! the right shade, done with a great tie and shirt.
i became a fan immediately!

off to search for brown mens vintage suit coats!

Well ... The New York Times says brown is the new black for mens' shoes.

BROWN men’s shoes, popular with the aristocracy in the 1930s, when they were championed by the Prince of Wales and Hollywood movie royalty, are being revived in Manhattan. After World War II, the conventional black shoe returned, except among upper-class European men, who continued to wear brown suede wingtip styles with their business suits. The Italian industrialist Giovanni Agnelli popularized this Continental style of brown shoes in many shades, highly polished to achieve an aged patina. Today the shoes are worn with business suits and casual weekend blue jeans.

We've been selling TONS of brown suits all year. Outfitting whole wedding parties....not a color I would have expected for that!
 
I can't get enough brown suits for men....it's the most requested colour, heck, it's the only requested colour. We also sell two pairs of brown shoes for every pair of black. Who would have thought? Not so long ago, a boyfriend of mine was ridiculed for his brown suit!

I LOVE brown! It really is making a big splash with design, too. My GF is expecting, and got tons of artsy baby stuff from Target with an assortment of brown, pink, mint, blue dots. I use brown type in a lot of designs, especially for Hatfeathers. It looks like chocolate, too! MMMMMMM
