Men\'s Tux - Early??? - Sorr Pic Heavy

Have been trying to get some dating help using UGWA union label in this one but can't find a dating guide (have seen the AGWA dating sites). I originally thought this might be quite early but am now second guessing myself. Buttons on pants look quite new so not sure if replacements or just a newer suit than I originally thought - actually think it is tux. There is also a different label on the inside of the pants pocket - ARDC certificate which is new to me. Jacket feels like a fairly heavy wool - it def. has a different feel to it (you know that "vintage" feeling :).

Suit is very very black so had some trouble getting details which why so many photos and odd angles - I aplogize. Tried to size all appropriately so as not to overload but photobucket does weird things to me sometimes.

Hoping for best but am thinking my initial reaction was wrong...thoughts? I appreciate all help very much. Thank you. Will continue googling while I hope for good news! :)

UPDATE: I popped a few stitches on union label - it says "Issued by" at top left - does not have the AF of L or AFL-CIO text. Also - I am now wondering if this is military? Air Force?

Honestly now wondering if these even go together...the blacks match but pants are much lighterweight. Wonder if pants are military and they aren't a set...

If they are different weights, they probably don't go together - it was common for dinner suits to lose their mates and I often find they don't match.

I would date your jacket as early '50s - it's beautiful, good quality but surprisingly was made without a lining. This is part of why I date it as '50s rather than earlier. I think the pants may be about the same age as they have an early style but I'm not used to seeing zippers on '30s-'40s dinner pants. Hopefully the labels will help someone date them better.

Just giving this a bump - I am really curious to see if anyone has seen the ARDC compliance certification label before...

Thanks!
