Metallic Blue John Charles dress

I showed this to my mum and she reckons she wore a home made dress like this for a high school graduation in the 60's. I wasn't convinced though, my first thought was definetly 70's with all the frills but the metallic is very 80's.

Does anyone else have an example of an 80's John Charles garment with this label? All my similar labels are from the 70's so it'd be good to see when they changed?

For me, another helpful clue is the size. Have you tried it on? If that dress fits like a modern UK12 (US10), that's more evidence it's 80s, even without knowing the maker's labeling history. Something about the edges of the ruffles looks "new" to me, as well. Pretty color, metallic or not : ).
