Metallic Dress Duster

I am not sure what this is actually called. It is from a vintage JP Dresses collection and that is all I know. Can someone please help with info on this and possibly some key words to describe it. BTW its a size 16 in case that might help. Thanks so much

Looks like a 70s cocoon jacket/overpiece, of synthetic material.
