Michelle\'s ball gown

Designed by Jason Wu, it's yellow and appears to have tulle "puffs" on it. He designed another dress for her earlier that had embroidered black "puffs."

Don't love it.... it looks a bit like the tufts are made of toilet paper roses... The overall cut is good on her figure although the one shoulder strap is awkwardly set I think.

Is he the same Jason Wu that did the tarted-up Candi dolls???? Hmmmm :scratchchin:

YUP... 160310878298 That's scary.

how odd iyt was described at white on our tv and certainly looked white...l liked the dress well enough but it wasnt first lady elegant...but hey give the girl a break...

I loved the gown! The shape, the train, etc. And, unlike some of her dresses, I thought this one flattered her figure enormously. Some papers this a.m. are describing it as white, and some as yellow. Agree w/Jonathan about the oddly set shoulder strap, though. I think it would've looked fabulous as a completely asymmetric strap (brought across the opposite shoulder), or as a thinner, same-shoulder strap set straight on....

I liked Jill Biden's red gown, too.

It appeared to be white on my screen also. The only thing I didn't like was the train. Doesn't that make dancing very awkward? I think she could wear a garbage bag and look wonderful.

I didn't get to see much of the coverage of the balls last night, but what I did see showed a few instances of Barack stepping on her hem while they were dancing (and we know they're both good dancers), and then he'd whisper an aplogy and they'd laugh and then a moment later he'd step on it again. Seems that the dress either should not have touched the floor or had one of those thingies attached to the skirt that enables the wearer to pull it up out of harm's way.

They both looked so beautiful I could hardly stand it.
