Thank you for any help you can provide dating this Midnight Blue handbag with hinges that say Esmond MN. It's 9" wide x 6" high x 4" deep (at the flat base). The clasp works and it has some gentle age to it. No other markings or labels.

The velvet is a nice touch: I think it's '50s or early '60s.
