Mike Benet Formal Dress

Any ideas on what year or information on this Mike Benet gown is from? I’ve done some searches but haven’t seen anything quite like it. It was thrifted for Prom and has a matching wrap.

I see a "4" size tag. Can you tell us what the measurements are? That will give us a clue about decade. My guess is that this is a more recent gown, based on the style of the bodice and the country of origin.

Not sure if that helps at all, but thank you for your response. My mom thought it might be 90’s since it was Made in China. But with the label being in black and no cleaning on it, we were unsure.

I think your mom may be right. The color of the label doesn't really tell us much, as that label really never changed from it's beginning (1960s). The cleaning instructions are odd to me, as well. There is generally some cleaning recommendation! This suggests that it may have been designed for very light wear, and not for longevity.

That makes sense. Someone definitely took good care of it, it’s in pristine condition - minus a couple of beads needing re-attached - so I figured I’d just air it out before wearing it. No other tags were on it and the seller had no info. Thanks again for your response.

Thanks for your response. I’m thinking you’re all correct for it being a 90’s gown. I can’t wait to wear it! It’s a perfect fit.
