mike benet formal questions

I've got an original mike Benet formal gown, I have some ?'s about age and if it is rare. *anymore addit. info is appreciated.

These dresses are often hard to date. That said...it looks 60s by style.
As for rarity, no, not really rare as a brand, but there are some really lovely examples out there.
Yours looks quite elegant.

How does it close up? Does it have a metal or nylon zipper?

It has a nylon zipper with two cupid hairpin hooks placed at the top and the waist.
 
I agree with '60s in style, and the fact that the label does not say "dry clean only" and it's a dry clean only dress and the label in the LR says that, and is dated '70s - I think this dress is a little earlier but the classic style could put it anywhere in the '60s. The nylon zipper suggests it could be late '60s but perhaps it is a replacement for an original metal one.

Can you tell if the zipper is original or not? Satin marks easily so if it has been replaced there may be some stitching holes near the zipper.

Gorgeous dress. Totally 60s.

For comparison sake, here's a Mike Benet I've got that is definitely 50s, with the same label. You can see the similarities, but the styling differences, too.
