Mikimoto Pearls on Vintage 60s Dress?

I have the opportunity to purchase a pretty cool dress. The 82 year old woman selling it had it made for her in 1962 in Hong Kong. She said the only stipulation she gave the tailor was that it should have Mikimoto pearls on it.

It's a size 12 - 14, navy silk sleeveless dress and the top (front and back) has small pearls covering it in rows. There are some scattered pearls on the skirt as She also had a coat made to go with the dress, it has a shawl collar and is navy silk. At the back of the collar it has some small embroidery and a couple more pearls. At the front it has a clasp with some pearls. She also has a pair of matching shoes with a few pearls on them.

I have not seen the dress in person but she showed me a picture of either a label or certificate stating they were Mikimoto pearls.

She only wore the dress for big occasions (like when she spoke at a conference attended by Sir Edmund Hillary). She never ate in it because she was terrified of spilling something or wore deodorant.

She said it had probably been worn 10 hours or less in her life. She had a jeweller recently offer her $450.

My question to you is, have you come across any dresses with Mikimoto pearls on them? I will see the dress today and take pictures.

Thank you so much.
