Milch bag history?

I have this alligator Milch bag that I picked up at my fav thrift store a few years ago. I almost didn't bother but I'm glad I did!

I see them for sale and all I've been able to figure out is that Milch was a designer. But there's nothing to be found online about this who this designer was or where the bags are from. On the brass hardware is "Germany" and the inside bears the Milch logo. I'm guessing it's late 50s, early 60s and that's about all I know.

Would anyone here have any further information on Milch and or the bags/purses?

I will look for information for you in between morning chores and will post things as I find them. The first thing I learned is that Frank (aka Francis?) Milch was the owner and/or designer of Milch handbags of New York. This 1966 photo of him is in the collection of the Oklahoma Historical Society and the notes can be seen HERE...

Thank you so much! I had seen references to a F. Milch so this would explain a lot. I understand his bags are collectible but there's certainly not much information to be found about him.

I purchased this Milch bag for $10 at a resale shop. I can't find any information online other than yours. This bag is extraordinary, for being as old as it is, it has maintained it's shape and condition for the most part. Well made. I'd love to find a value online.
