Mini Haul......PINK!!! And She Made HATS!!!

My camera is at the shop, so no pics, so sorry. Tomorrow, I promise!

Got an email from an estate guy who said he had "several vintage dresses in an apartment he was working with", and was I interested. Well, yeah, of course! So I went this evening after the shop closed. Not a LOT, mini haul at best.....about 15 dresses. Woman after my own heart, though.....mid to late 60s, all PINK, gold, silver, florals....chiffons, silks, lace, satin, bows. A nice pile on my dining room table that absolutely captures my own personal taste (were my taste 60s, which it kind of isnt, but in this case.....I'm sort of loving it!).

A mink coat, nice one. Some wraps. A great white wicker picnic basket type purse by "Olive", with pink velvet beaded strawberries on top and a little mirror & pink velvet bow inside the lid (keeping, love it). Lace wiggle dresses, silk floral opera style jackets.....ALL she made herself, even a few with her own label "Handmade by Vivian Neu".

Spied a Schiapparelli hatbox, looked inside.....RIBBON! Some more hatboxes had been set aside for me, glanced in & assumed hats. This was a quick buy, guy was in a hurry, priced to sell. Got home and one hatbox was FULL of millinery FEATHERS!! Pink, black, aqua, spotted, maribou, whole wings, parts of birds w/ heads, feathers that spiral, WOW!! AND another hatbox of millinery florals...velvets, silks....also, parts of hats. Like the bases one would build hats ON. Several great hats, as well....a few I'm going to assume she made, some w/ labels....a leopard crusher w/ bow, I am keeping because I collect leopard hats!

Anyway, I'll add pics tomorrow...not a killer hoard-haul (I wish!), but a swell mini with some super girlie happy pink & metallic lovelies and a fabulous hatmaker's stash.

PS, the guy running the estate said he was SUPPOSED to donate all clothing to a place here in town, but he kept what I got out for me. 70 pairs of shoes and the rest of the clothing went Thursday.........I'm THERE tomorrow AM!!!! Hopefully they dont pick it or ship it around before putting it out........

Better than a poke in the eye. Sounds great. Since the Edie Sedgwick movie is coming out now I think the timing is good for them. I love pink stuff too.... I would kill for the feathers and ribbon.......

Pink, florals and 60s are all in for Spring! Great haul!

Went to the thrift, they said if they picked it up Thursday it would be out......but hell, there werent even 70 pairs of shoes TOTAL, let alone the 70s I was told they picked up from her apartment. So either they didnt have them out & didnt want to go look......sold them to a dealer.......or, worse. I'm going back Monday to see if maybe they just hadnt processed them yet. There was NOTHING even slightly vintage. Grrrrr.

I'll get some pics now of some of the hat stuff.
